The election of 2012 has come and gone.
Our only bright spot for Pierce County was the election of Mike Longergan for assessor/treasurer. Hopefully, he can fullfill his campaign motto and actually “fix it”.
When it comes to the state legislature, our bright spot is that there’s been a move to share power between the two parties when it comes to committee formation. Hopefully the democrats will come to their senses and realize they can’t go on spending beyond the taxpayer’s means to fund ever expanding programs in weak economy.
So, what next? Will the Republican Party survive another four years under President Obama, or will there be a “repackaging” of conservatism as some are proclaiming the party must do to exist?
What say you?
